                Fourth Annual Lily Garden Bus Tour  July  2012
The 2012 Lily Garden Bus Tour included visits to four gardens from Marshalltown to Shellsburg
IRLS members and friends visited a local nursery in Cedar Rapids plus dined in the Amanas before
returning home to the Des Moines area .
This National AHS Daylily Display Garden features not only a large display of True Lilies, but also
IRLS members scatter in the gardens under the trees
Time to talk with other Lily enthusiasts is part
of the fun of being on a Lily garden Tour.
A tall stand of Black Beauty shows why this
orienpet lily is so popular in Iowa gardens!
L. lancifolium(aka Tiger Lily) has been grown in
Iowa gardens since the 1870s.

We loved wandering thru huge daylily  beds featuring beautiful
registered daylilies plus seedlings from his hybridizing crosses.
